The Crooked island is a part of commonwealth of the Bahamas. The island at 197 km along with other nearby islands forms an arc shaped archipelago. The island’s history dates back to American royalists who ware involved in cotton plantation. When slavery was abolished the result was most of the plantation was abandoned. Today island is sparsely populated, the population in last decade was about less then 600 on Crooked island. The current population now live on fishing and farming.
