The Paradise Island is one of few beautiful islands in the Bahamas. It is in close vicinity of Nassau (Bahamas). The Paradise Island is known for "Vegas-By-The-Sea-Resort" Atlantis. The previous name for Paradise Island was "Hog Island". In 1959 Huntington Hartford The rich businessman arrived on Hog Island to visit his sister Josephine Hartford. With its closeness with Nassau and beautiful beaches compelled Huntington Hartford to buy Hog Island from Axel Wenner Gren.
After buying the Hog Island he changed the name to Paradise Island.The next thing he did was, to hire Palm Beach architect John Volk to built the Ocean Club, Hurricane Hole, Cafe Martinique and the Golf Course. The Island was reopened 1962 after new facelift. The news of Paradise Island was covered in leading Newsweek and magazines and gained overnight publicity. Mr.. Hartford spent lot of time in getting right people to in popularizing the Paradise Island.
The Paradise Island is connected to New providence Island with two bridges. The paradise and New providence islands are close to Nassau's Harbour, the capital city. More Info to follow.
